Why convert SVG to PNG instead of just using the SVG file? SVG is a vector format — ideal for websites and scalable icons — but many platforms still don't accept it. Email clients often strip SVGs, most social media upload fields reject them, and older presentation software (some PowerPoint versions, older Google Slides embeds) can't render them at all. PNG is a raster format accepted almost everywhere.
Will the PNG look blurry compared to the original SVG? Not if you export at a high enough resolution. Since SVG is resolution-independent, this tool rasterizes it at a size you choose — pick a larger pixel width if the PNG will be used at large sizes (e.g. banners or print), and a smaller one for icons or favicons, to avoid unnecessarily large file sizes.
Does the converted PNG keep transparency? Yes. If your SVG has a transparent background, the output PNG preserves that transparency (unlike a JPG conversion, which would fill it with a solid color).
